Aw, shucks! I can't make this one either. I am in Fort Sill, OK right now (which is not too far away) but the Vette is still in Texas.
Let's see, that would be a 5 hour trip back to Fort Hood, pick up the Vette and drive 2 1/2 - 3 hours to Lewisville, nope, don't think I can make it this time.

We had a great time talking cars and car movies last night at Red Neck Heaven in Lewisville. Discussion included some of the old feature show cars like the Monkeemobile, Batmobile, Munster's Dragula plus Hot Wheels and movies like Bullitt, Gone In 60 Seconds, American Graffiti, etc.

Not a huge turnout but, alot of fun just the same. A couple of show cars, other than a few of the Vette regulars, a beautiful red and white '55 Pontiac convertible and a sweet looking red and black 2000 Camaro SS convertible, joined the regular Corvette group. We're doing this again 7PM to 9PM next Tuesday, 11/10/09, at Red Neck Heaven. JOIN US! (If you're coming let us know here so, we can reserve enough parking)

Hey, glad you made it out! Yeah, it was a good time. Maybe some others here will decide to "grace us with their presence"!

Tony Snider in his daily driver (a very nice '99 Camaro), Mark Brown with his red '06 ZO6 Corvette, Adrian with his red '06 C6 Corvette, Marc Dabal with his '68 Firebird convertible, Art Jett with his beautiful Pearl white '77 Corvette and me with my '07 red C6 Corvette were present.

We're going to have these GTG's at Red Neck Heaven EVERY Tuesday night, now. That may give everyone more opportunity to meet up with us. We are going to start playing car trivia at the next GTG. A $5 entry fee will be split 50/50 between winners and Paws 'n' Wheels, to benefit animal welfare. COME OUT next Tuesday!

An RSVP to reserve our parking always helps!

This is an example of the twenty trivia questions we will be playing with each week. More participants will mean larger pots.

Great fun last night!

Trivia: "how much DON'T you know about cars! :rolling:

Samantha :thud: our waitress was fun (no butt slapping involved)!

Gonna have to bring the camera even though it's too dark outside to take pictures with the Vettes. Just have to have them wear my Corvette hat!

Beer  was good, food was good (love the "bubba burger"), and the T-shirt ideas are going to be super!

"I am on probation at Red Neck Heaven!"
"I am in Violation of Probation at Red Neck Heaven!"
"I couldn't Keep in in my Pants at Red Neck Heaven!"

:rolling:

BTW - Scott was correct. James Watt invented the STEAM engine (not the diesel!). :smack 1782 WAS a little early for that!

Ooops!
Last nights James Bond trivia question was correct!

Vehicles featured included various American Motors cars including two American Motors Cassini (AMC) Coupés, a red 1974 AMC Hornet X Hatchback Special Coupé which performs the spiral loop jump and a brown and gold 1974 AMC Matador X Coupé which became a car-plane

I knew the Matador did the plane conversion.. thought it did the spiral loop too!

The spiral "Javelin Jump" was performed by a modified 1974 Hornet X: special suspension, a six cylinder engine (for reduced weight), centered steering wheel, and a special fuel system to stop the car stalling when turning over.

Talk about coincidence/timing! I woke up again in the middle of the night last night (a regular occurence, lately) and I had fallen asleep with the TV still on (another regular thing) and this DAMN movie was on!!! I woke up just about the time the jump was made. Helluva way to verify the trivia facts!!! :thud:
