Radar alert every 10 seconds

Hi I just got an Escort8500 and it is constantly giving me Radar alerts! Even sitting in my garage it goes off every 10 secs or so. is there a setting that I missed or is my unit defective? Anyone else have this problem?

I have an 8500, and don't have that problem.

We can't rule out a local radar source. Lots of security systems use x-band for motion detectors.

Does it still happen when you switch to "city" mode instead of "highway" mode?

ooops I meant to say Laser alerts. And it happens in any mode. I have driven car far into rural areas where theres nothing but forests and the laser alerts go off every 5-10 seconds.

Hmmm. I would call their tech support number and tell them what is going on. Could be a defective unit. WEIRD!

I've also got the Escort 8500 and I've only ever had my laser go off once.

So what did you finally do?

I called tech support and they told me to send it back for a new replacement unit.
