Should I put this in the kill section?

Oh... maybe I found a wide-open and safe straight-away today and maybe this Z06 goes from 70mph to 140mph like fricking butter. No strain, you could feel the relentless power but the car never felt like it was actually working that hard. Know what I mean?

:partyon:

Might have played with the brakes a bit too. DAMN. The Z just slows down so fast and straight and the car stays really balanced. They felt amazing. Best brakes ever. Particularly if you want to go from 140 mph to 55 mph so hard you'll leave you eyeballs on the dash.

If you go fast with the windows down, it's way quieter at 140 in the C5 than my C4 was, by a huge margin. Way less wind and side mirror noise. Less interior turbulence too. You can tell this car is shaped to cut through the wind.

I thought for a brief second that if I kept my foot in it a splash longer I could top out the car with enough time to actually stop a few miles ahead... it was wide open road... but, didn't feel like pushing my luck today. Maybe tomorrow.

Down from C4 .34 to C5 .29 (coefficient of drag). Certainly a dramatic difference AND it keeps getting better too. It's amazing how stable these cars feel at high speeds, often times they feel more planted at speed than putt'n around town at 30-40mph. I couldn't believe how fast 110mph came up on the speedo in my buddy's Z06! :surprised Sometimes wish the '85 got to 1XX mph as fast as the newer rides do but no complaints, it holds it own and sticks to pavement like a sweaty back to leather.

Less interior turbulence too.

Whoever smelt it, dealt it... http://www.websmileys.com/sm/crazy/1460.gif

Overall, I still liked the C4 interior better. The C5 interior is really generic and corporate safe. Everytime I'm in the car I think about what I'm gonna do to it to give it some personality. Trying to figure out the master plan before I start surgery.

Its not so much the triple digits speeds that get me its the triple digit speeds around a corner. I've gone very fast on some winding roads and the car is glued...

You know, it's pretty funny how you can be flying up to an intersection at 60mph, then simply yank the wheel to the left and then you make a 90-degree turn into the inside lane, with zero tire squeel, no body roll and perfect grace.

All while changing radio stations.
