OK I'm sick of this FM transmitter for my Ipod. I have the base radio, not Bose, without XM or NAV. No one makes an Ipod adaptor for the base radio without XM (that I can find) and I was wondering if there was any way to directly wire an Ipod to the radio somehow. I am completely clueless about audio systems so nothing too complicated please. Can anyone please help ? Thanks Brett

I'm sorry to say it but my installation guy told me no! Break down and buy a good aftermarket radio. I have the Kenwood excelon. Its better than the factory and cheaper and it has tv and plays dvd. this includes navigation too. Double din for 2400 bucks

I must say that this is one area GM dropped the ball. I have no idea why they didn't include an aux port for all the radios offered with the C6. My old roommate's '07 Honda Ridgeline has one and he constantly made fun of me for not having one on my C6.

Here is a kit that I bought off eBay and it works awsome. They have kits for the Nav system with XM or without. My 05 does not have XM but when I installed it the system now says FM 1/2 and XM 1/2. I have hooked up my iPod as well as my XM radio reciever. It is a simple install and easy to operate using the exsiting controls.

Any questions just ask. It works great.:partyon: :partyon:

For the money you would need to spend on a quality product/wiring, you're about 1/2 way to an aftermarket head unit that would provide you the IPOD interface you're looking for plus some extra features such as blue tooth and XM if interested. There is a Pioneer unit in particular that offers these features. If you're happy with your current speakers and just want the IPOD interface, go with a new head unit for about $500.

I'm thinking of getting an Eclipse which I think has audio and video inputs... I got an iPod Nano/ video for Christmas... TV shows sound decent with my DLO Transpod http://www.dlo.com/products/TP_black_Prod.tpl?command=showpage&cart=116379

I also listen to/ watch a lot of news/audio and video podcast on the way to work... It would be great to be able to watch them on my head unit's bigger screen. I gotta think a direct hookup would be much better.

Are you totally satisfied with this interface? I've been waiting for one to come out forever and it seems that this one may be the one. I have an iphone and it claims to be compatible with that too. On that ebay auction it says that its NOT compatible with the single disc base radio. I have the single disc but think I have the upgraded bose system with navigation. Is that what you have?

thanks for the post and giving me some hope that I can finally hook up my iphone to my c6!

Doesn't the 08 already have an ipod adaptor?

i made my own, actually. i went with a rca adapter and ran it to the back of my factory head unit (xm though), then i ran a rca jack to headphone jack cable from the back of the adapter to under my dash....then the headphone jack to my ipod.... bada bing... all done. :D

I just ordered the ebay harness that plugs into the back of my NAV/head unit. They said the XM controls will control the ipod. Sounds cool.

No, I don't think an auxilary jack is included on the 08 vette.

It was my understanding that the '08 comes with an iPod jack unless you order the DVD navigation system, which I did. The brochure said a jack would be available for the nav. system but it's evidently still not ready from GM.

Yeah, no jack on the Nav:

... and I stand corrected about at least the 6 stack deck... look to the right of the disc slot
