"In for a surprise"

I went to Gainesville raceway today to try to do some tuning. It was too packed but I did manage to make 1 pass. I lined up against a 5.0 LX mustang race car. It was fully dressed with drag wheels, slicks, roll bar, fiber glass hood, etc...big money car.
My son went to sit on the bleachers while I went to the burn out box with my opponent. A group of guys asked my son if the red Vette was his dads. He said yes. I guess they were with the Mustang fella. Their reply was "oh he's in for a big surprise". They meant me.
Well we both left on the third yellow and I pulled him all the way. The response from the bleacher's was Gawd Dang!

The driver was actually cool about it though.

A 1.6 sec 60' time is nothing to sneeze at nor is the 11.4 pass. What are you running?
Nice tiime and legal kill brotha.

It's a 383 with Trickflow heads and a Holley Stealth Ram manifold. I'm running a TCI 3000 converter with 3.07 gears. I also had on an old, bald set of BFG drag radials. This run was with a 150 shot.
I launched n/a and pressed the button after I shifted into 2nd. I lifted off the button prior to shifting into 3rd. I then pressed the button again after shifting into 3rd.
This was my first nitrous run so theres probably more in it. Technique, practice and tuning should get me close to the 10's.

Cheers,
John
