Weird - AA C6 Verte Seats are Melting? [Archive]

I bought two Auto Art C6 convertibles in 1:18th scale. One is black, the other LeMans blue, both with the tan/shale interior.

I bought them over a year ago and I have them both displayed in acrylic display cases. I took them out the other day and noticed that both seats/interior are tacky to the touch and actually melted a little when I touched them leaving finger print marks, indentations, etc.

I checked my other AA models, years, etc. and these are the only two. Has anyone else experienced this? Both models run over $60.00 new so I am disappointed. :down:

I remember someone posting about this on a diecast site I frequent. Ended up being that AA resprayed the shale interiors before release. I don't remember what exactly, but it had something to do with the paint they used. If I remember correctly they used an alcohol swab and wiped the seats down and the problem was corrected.
