Here's what happened.
Today was sunny and dry enough in MI for my Vette (I've been reading this forum too much, I couldn't resist my babe this morning) so I took her out.
It's my first drive in this year, so I was just happy that I was in my Vette. Period.
I stopped at an intersection, which has two lane that cross the light and merge into one lane.
Most of people commuting here knows that so people were lining up behind me, and all of sudden I see a Bright yellow thing that comes on my right hand side. (which I just saw coming via my side mirror)
I didn't even look at that car, and this guy started revving at me.
I looked over and this car was too riced out, I couldn't even tell what the heck that was supposed to be.
He kept revving and looked over me and had this shitty smile on his face.
I thought to myself, 'this is IT. It can be my first kill story!! A ricer KILL!!"
Green light comes, he had a better start, which let him have about half car, then I got the traction, and on second gear, he started to fade in my mirror already.
A few lights later, he stopped next to me, and was looking over again.
So I smiled back at him and he opened the window and complimented my car.
I wish I could do the same for him, but I didn't know what I'm complimenting, so I asked him what his ride originally was.
GEO METRO!!!!
My God.... No wonder he was a yellow dot by the time I started to slow down.
I've seen weirdos in Civic doing crazy outlook mods and racing their asses off, but this is first METRO ricer.
Ahhh well, at least the guy wasn't that of an A-hole.
So this year's first kill on my bone stock C5 is tiny Metro with fart can muffler.

ChainsawKLO 02-20-2008, 06:14 PM I had a kid last year with a fart can muffler pull up and rev his engine. a civic or something with low HP and lots of noise. So I just had to go, to let him know noise was all he had.

Who knows maybe it was modded to the hilt, I'm thinking a custom header, "performance grind" cam, and all three pistons were probably forged aluminum units.
All that and a custom tune to the computer and you've got 80, maybe even 82 horses at the flywheel, and that ain't nothin' to laugh at.

I told my wife what happened and she thinks our 3-year-old-daughter could've beaten him on her pink barbie electric cart.
Seriously though, for my defense, it looked to be some sorta 'sporty' car that kids love to add wings on. (like celica, RSX, shitty-shitbox, or whatever...)
Well, I guess he did a good job on his MOD/TUNING - their whole intention is to make their car look faster than it really is, isn't it? In that sense, it was a slam dunk.
Maybe I should go pick on Festiva sometime. Or if I'm lucky enough, I may even bump into a Yugo to pick on. Who knows????

A guy down the road has an old Honda CVVC (yeah, that's the predecessor to the civic) if you want to hook something up, I'll be more than happy to talk to him for you.:laughing:

yes, and I'm not sure, but I DO know that the '96 Geo Tracker FOUR cylinder that I had was a 97 cubic inch 95 horsepower fuel injected engine.
On wet pavement, with a healthy dose of Crisco on the passenger side rear tire she'd smoke 'em clear into fourth gear.:rolling:
