6 speed transmission

I have a 6 speed transmission that will not engage second gear until transmission has warmed up.

It sounds like you've got synchro issues. I would recommend draining your transmission to find out what the fluid looks like. This will help with diagnosis; if you have a lot of particulates in there, you know you've got serious wear. Check the basics first too. Do you know that you've got sufficient fluid in there? Any leaks?

Check your clutch fluid first. Being low will cause shifting issues. Also recommend changing the trans fluid to the Castrol BMW fluid.

I have a new, in the crate, ZF for sale - - if interested PM me.
I bought it when GM put them all on auction and it will fit anything but the ZR1.

I forgot; the main reason (besides abuse) the synchros go out is the slave cylinder being filled with contaminated crud and not allowing the clutch to release completely - - just a bit of drag takes out the synchros.
