the U.S. in general is in the toilet. We are our own worse enemy. We have nobody to blame but ourselves.American car companies are dying fast because people are brainwashed into thinking that foreign cars are better no matter what and nobody is ever gona change that.
No. The American automaker is pricing itself out of the market due to greed:down:
As previously mentioned, what is it that's "special enough" to warrrant an over 100+ stealership markup on a Corvette? Same "basic" b=package as a Z with s some add ons cosmetics, a huffer and some CF
We may as well just hand the U.S. over to japan on a silver platter or maybe we already have.No offence but after pearl you want to shake hands and be friends, thats fine, but you will never sell any product here in the u.s. If that makes me an ass then so be it
.
No, it doesn't make you an ass. Your opinion is your opinion:thumbsup:
"Pearl" is over as is the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Living in the past is counter productive. It's always good to review history and keep it fresh, but dwellingg on it is problematic.
We can't put our heads in the sand and try to treat the US as a stand alone nation. It just won't work any longer.
I too hate the overseas outsoursing and manufacturing, but for the time being, there's little we can do abount it. It will demand government intervention to stop it. Don't hold your breath for that to happen.
the U.S. auto industry would not be where it is today].That means we have to make it here ourselves and put more of our people to work and boost our economy instead of importing EVERYTHING.
As I said, the US Autoimakers have placed themselves in this predicament.
Unimaginative and boring design concepts, little to no follow through on original concepts, poor workmanship and quality control issues, a lack of customer service and price gouging have placed them where they are.
oh my god, what a concept. If you could not buy a foreign car in this country, the big 3 would flourish instead of closing factories and laying people off.Or at least make foreign cars so expensive to get by way of tarrif that americans want to buy american. do you remember when americans loved american cars?
Inh "concept" it's a great idea:thumbsup:
In the real world, all it would do is create a means to manufacture and sell poorly made automobiles for rediculously priced profits
The "Big 3" as you put it, would have a monopoly and hte American car buyer, without a choice, would be stuck buying crap!
Instead, why not try this GM, Ford and the rest of you?
Try controlling your BUDGETS! Reduce unecessary overhead and fat cat staffing! Instead of fighting the Japaneese (and Germans and WTF ever else sends cars over here), why not LEARN SOMETHING from them?
Keep you friends close, you're enemies cliser
Also remember that the tariff thing is a 2 way street. They could just as eaily place heavy tariffs on anything sent to the US. Imagine this. You're American GM/FORD/Chrysler (or HARLEY DAVIDSON) would never leave the production line if it were not for foreing parts. Yes, we could make them here, but with current manufacturing costs, it would jack the price of the cars sky high(er).
And yes, I remember when Americans loved American cars. Then the government got involved and it went to hell in a handbasket
I hear so many americans badmouth our own cars that it makes me sick. where is your pride people?
I'll tell you where my "Pride" is!!! It's in being able to afford to take care of my famiuly because I haven't spent the farm trying to buy and maintain some piss poorly built piece of American made crap! You woirk on QUALITY and DEPENDABULITY and I'll work on buying American (as american as it can be anyway). The suggestion that anyone who buys other than American is un patriotic is BS at best!
and technology is good to a certain point, but it has cut the need for human workers in half and its only gona get worse.the end is near.
Ain't progess a bitch???!!!! Instead of whining about the technology, why not try to evolve with it. Technology is great but there will always be the need for human intervention to build, repair, maintain and over see the robots:laughing:
Toyota is in nascar for christ sakes, they are taking over.americans hate our own cars and someday there may be no big 3 and it may be sooner than you think. :WTF
I don't think Americans "hate" our own cars. I think most of us just want something thats reliable, dependable and reasonably priced.
Of course for the most part we're talking about American cars in general.
The Corvette doesn't even come into play in this equation in as much as it's for many people, a toy, a weekender, or a DD that takes them back & forth to work short distances. The ZR1 is in a category all its own by design. Not that it necessarily deserves it, but thats the way it is:thumbsup:
Don't forget your helmet and you might want to watch out for that big hunk of fallin' sky over there:rolling: :rolling:
