On March 11th 2010, after 7 years of ownership, I sold DigitalCorvettes.com.
I love DigitalCorvettes.com, the community, and treasure the memories and friendships formed. But, with 50+ clients on the business end and the server/software/operational demands of a community of nearly 100,000 members, I am forever in the position of having little time for anything else -- including the Corvette hobby.
Beyond selling DigitalCorvettes.com, I've consolidated other aspects of my professional life including selling my interests in several other businesses. I will now put my sole business and creative focus into opening our Gramm Productions / Phoenix office, and launching a whole new wave of exciting Corvette and motorsports film productions and expanding current shows like 'Vette Garage: The Series
The new owner of DigitalCorvettes.com is VerticalScope
. No, these are not the guys that own CF! But, they have certainly amassed an impressive collection of car-related forums. They are car enthusiasts and have the infrastructure and expertise needed to keep a large scale forum such as DigitalCorvettes.com running strong. More on these guys in a second.
I just wanted to say how deeply grateful I am to the members, moderators, and businesses that have contributed so much to DigitalCorvettes.com since 2003. You've allowed me to live a truly amazing, fascinating and relevant life. And, thank you to the other leaders of the Corvette "family" who listened intently and shared their wisdom as I grappled with this very tough decision for some time now.
I understand that many folks became Lifetime Supporting Members of DigitalCorvettes.com to support my efforts and because this was a "privately owned" website. I would like to refund those dollars to any supporting member who so chooses. Just shoot me an email and the money is on its way back to you, no questions asked.
Now, being an entrepreneur is hardly an easy life -- because it's about doing what you have to do, before doing what you want to do. And, sometimes the "have to do" list has been utterly endless. So, I can't possibly even articulate how thankful I am to my family -- Becky, Shane, Koty, Keegan and Kade. You have always trusted and supported my hard work and vision without any hesitation. I took that trust very seriously, and I promised I wouldn't let you down. And, I didn't.
Now, obviously selling DigitalCorvettes.com is a pretty big deal. If you have questions/comments feel free to reply to this thread and I'll do my best to answer them. Or, if you prefer, you can contact me at my new email address: patrick @ vettegarage.tv
(spaces added to dodge spambots).
Now, to kick off a new era for DigitalCorvettes.com, I throw the keys to VerticalScope and introduce you to Don Roy. He's gonna jump in here shortly and bring you up to speed on all things related to VerticalScope.
I'll see you guys in the forums.
