Thanks Chris....lets hope for a better result than Sebring. I'll be watching. Is there anyway to see more Corvette action? The Speed coverage is heavily slanted towards the P cars.

It will always be slanted towards the overall leaders no matter what network covers the races, but this year should be much better since the main action is in GT.

I don't think that will ever happen again for Corvette...they know they are better than that.

According to the Spotter's guide, Risi is just running the red Ferrari this race? They ran 2 at Sebring.

Yeah, according to the entry list Ritzi is running one.

Sebring always brings out more cars in each class. It is a test for the Lemans race also I belive that if you do not race at Sebring, you will not be able to run at LeMans. Not 100% sure about that, but I thought I read that some where.

I think it's pretty obvious the Risi Ferrari has an advantage since they didn't get weight added unlike the BMW's and Corvette's.

Ferrari P1 by 0.6sec

P2-P12 only separated by 0.4sec.

Corvettes in P3 and P5.

What determines who gets weight added to their car? And how much is added?

With that little of a separation, its gonna be a tight race!

IMSA does all of the performance adjustments and regulations to try to keep each class as tight as it can be. I believe they base it off of lap times and finishing positions.

It really doesn't make since that the Vettes got weight added when they barely finished in the top 10 at Sebring but I guess IMSA saw things differently. I'm sure there is more to it then they actually tell us.

This was from Speedtv.com:
The Corvette C6.Rs started the season with IMSA mandating a minimum weight of 1270 kg. That requirement added 25 kg to the Corvettes which equals roughly 60 pounds. IMSA has stated that the Pratt and Miller Corvettes will run with the extra weight until completion of Round 3 at Laguna Seca in May.

Both the Corvettes and the new Jaguar XKRS were subjected to the 25 kg weight penalty at Sebring, but Jaguar gets their penalty lifted for Long Beach and will also get to run with a larger restrictor to increase straight-line speed.

The weight added to the Jag is REALLY a mystery to me. I wish I knew more about the reasons behind it.
