C6 speaker swap

Hi Guys, i have a07 c6with a premium navigation/stereo
. I amnot happy with the factory speakers.I would like to replace the factory speakers with a better quality aftermarket set.My questions are what sizes are the factory speakers and are they simple swaps with 2 wires each.Or are the complicated wireing like the c4 delco/bose.
Is it simple to add a subwoofer.Would the wiring for the sub have to go to the head unit. These may b dumb questions but PL RichEASE HELP

Hmmm... sounds like you should have a professional do it. Most Car Audio places can tell you all of that information very quickly. If you want to add a sub, you'll have to sacrifice trunk space or use a JL stealthbox. I replaced my bose with JL C5-650's and a Stealthbox and I like it MUCH better! Also replaced the NAV with an aftermarket head unit too and had to buy another AMP. I spent a couple hours doing research online looking for wiring harnesses and brackets to mount the 6" speakers in my doors (Bose have a shallow 10" sub), and then find out that the Audio Shop does all of that for me and just counts in the labor hours. Took one day.

I believe I paid $2300 after all was said and done (including ~$500 labor)...

If you have the cash and don't want to be bothered, that's always a good route, but car sterio install isn't hard at all and install labor cost is outrageous IMHO.

I have no idea what the spec's on the 07 Z06 sterio is, but http://www.crutchfield.com is generally a great place to start your research.

If you buy online, don't pay too much at crutchfield, look on sonicelectronix.com and woofersetc.com Good customer service and half the price.
