It's the new American way!
What more could we do for our Government for allowing us the opportunity to embibe of something we can grow in our own back yard?

Let me get this straight....
So you can drink beer legally. You can buy beer legally from the store. You can also make your own at home for personal consumption. No problem.
You can now consume Mary Jane legally. You can buy Mary Jane from the store. But you cannot make your own at home for personal consumption?
So is this new law about individual rights or tax revenue? I'm confused here...
All of this regulated by the same government office that regulates alcohol. Got it!

Extreme taxation, excessive controls, oppressive government competition with business, frustrated minorities and forgotten Americans are not the products of free enterprise. They are the residue of centralized bureaucracy, of government by a self-anointed elite. - Ronald Reagan |

Addictive personalities will get addicted.. no matter the drug. I was talking to a guy the other day who was going on an on about the evils of the devil weed.. then he explains to me that he abhors drugs in general. Now for the good part, he takes over 1000 painkillers a year, and isn't addicted.
I personally smoked off and on for 30 years. I never had a single problem quitting if I wanted to, or needed to. I did the alcohol thing as well. Owned a biker bar in east Ft. Worth (Mansfield highway for those familiar with the area) and drank like a fish for 3.5 years. Dr. said it had to stop and I stopped it as easily as the pot.
Just because some people cannot control their vices, doesn't mean the rest of us should not be able to enjoy what we can manage. We gotta quit putting them in jail and spend that money on education and rehabilitation. We are already spending it on prisons.. might as well put it to good use instead of pissing it away funding Convict Colleges.

It's funny as hell to see so many drinkers, cigarette smokers and prescription drug users talk about the "evils" of weed.
Well said with regards to addictive personalities. I'm one of those folks, whatever I do, I do to the 5th degree! Gave all of that stuff it and started hitting the gym. It was hard not to go 7 days a week. If I missed a day I felt guilty. Like everything else, it's something that has to be managed. I was a super heavy drinker for about 13 years...the last 5 of which included all types of other stuff that I won't mention here . Liver biopsy after I stopped everything showed I had 100% perfectly healthy liver. Both my parents were alcoholics as well.

I'm kinda waiting to see how the feds are going to react to the issue. They have said that they will still enforce all laws pertaining to schedule 1 drugs. You know, marijuana and heroin..........they have a lot in common according to the feds. I need to make some of those stuffed shirts in DC a batch of brownies.
How does all this play out with the will of the people, states rights and the 10th amendment?

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store and not a government agency. |

That is indeed going to be interesting! Well you know the Feds, always playing "Mother knows best" . The fact that they equate weed and heroin says a lot about those people . It's no wonder everything they touch turns to ash. I mean, they still haven't figured out that if you spend more than you take in, that you'll go bankrupt . If only they'd do what they're supposed to do, and left the people alone.
