Camouflaged C7 makes an appearance in Gran Turismo 5?
So this pops up in my notifications. I take what I'm reading with a grain of salt until I watch the video. I have yet to see it pop up in GT5 for me but I'm curious if anyone else might have caught?

Nissan did that with the GTR, except if I remember right it just had a cover over the car.

Welp after playing GT5 for a few hours I've seen it show up during demo mode as well. I find it interesting that the GT-R and the Vette are basically rivals now and that Polyphony saw fit to add a camo'd version of the upcoming vette just as they offered the camo'd version of the GT-R.
The car is definitely in the game; the question now is if/when will be available to use? Possibly on 1/13/13?

I'll try to see if I can get it to show up again sometime tonight but it took awhile before I spotted it. Jalopnik just confirmed it's existence in GT5 and there's some vids of it in the link I posted in the OP.

Now, this will not have the same impact as it did for the Nissan GTR and for many reasons.
The Nissan GTR has a long history in Japan (has never been officially sold in the US until now). It has been a main car in many Gran Turismo games over the years, in fact there are often 30-50 different Nissan Skylines in the games as of late. The Nissan Skyline has been a star in Japanese movies as well as featured in menga/anime. Also the Nissan GTR appeals to a completely different demographic (with some cross demographics going on) as the Corvette.
This really falls more in line with my theory that they are shifting the demographic a bit.

Information on the seventh-generation Chevy Corvette has been popping up in different places for months. First we saw the front end leaked by a supplier. Then we saw mules testing with C6 bodies. We’ve since learned about the engine—and now the 2014 Corvette has landed in the PlayStation driving videogame Gran Turismo 5.
The Vette appears during one of the game’s screen savers that comes up after a period of inactivity. Sometimes it shows replays of races, and at other times it shows photo-shoot locations in Photomode. We couldn’t repeat the appearance on our copy of the game, but there is video proof from one user at GTPlanet.
Before GT5 came out, a camouflaged version of the Nissan GT-R was included in the warm-up game GT Prologue. Soon after, it became a drivable car in the game. So far, no one’s been able to drive the C7 Vette in GT5.
We put a call in to Chevy to ask what the deal was: All they would say is that Chevy is working closely with the Sony to offer players of GT5 an authentic driving experience with the new Corvette. Chevy said more details would be available at a later date.
That settles it; from here on out we’ll be waiting at our PS3’s with baited breath. If we see anything, you’ll be the first to know—after we do a few hot laps at Laguna Seca.

Honestly I think it would make more sense if they went with Forza over GT5.

You just like to watch the world burn, don't you?
I bet the car will be available in both games not long after 1-13-13. I am rooting for the GT5 variant, as I don't own an XBox. And with a count off my memory there are 13 Vette variants in GT5

The reason that I say Forza over Gran Turismo is because GT is already kind of a Nissan GTR game. That is going to over shadow the Corvette in that game, as why not make the Corvette a Forza staple.

The exotics (Ferrari, Lamborghini) will over shadow the base C7 in Forza just as they do in GT5. But does Forza showcase odd brands and models in races? I know GT has a history of this including races for trucks, the Diahatsu midget(something between a golf cart and a tuk tuk) as well as the Vette, Vette Vette race in GT4.
I think the car will play well in both games and die hard fans will find a way to play with their favorite toy(GT-R, Vette or other)
This is from a guy with a 714hp Race mod ZR1 that has thrown it at every race allowed with pretty good success (with 284 other cars in the stable as well, even some GT-Rs)
