Greenwood Corvette on Craigslist. Is it real?
This person is advertising this car as a Greenwood car.
http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3335217509.html
From what I see, it has the Turbo International draw-through turbo system. I thought these systems were not used until '80 and '81. The Greenwood website states that a blow-through system was used in '78
I guess $4500 for a turbo car isn't bad
Any thoughts?

claiming any relation to the callaway is nuts, however it is a neat set up and may be worth something. should be easy to research greenwood cars.

I think that's the same car we've seen before. Guy was claiming it was an all original turbo car and the opinions went back and forth that it was a dealer option installed, on the wrong year, and not from the factory.
It's a tough case, but if the seller would just sell it as a turbo car I think he'd avoid the messy fact check arguments.
I think the system itself would be really fun to rebuild, with a rebuilt and more powerful engine. Maybe a slightly larger turbo and stout bottom end. The ducting and plumbing are the hard parts to installing a turbo, and this was a dealer installed kit just for C3s.
Could be a very fun project.

I was trying to weigh whether it would be feasible or not to take on a project like this. If it is a dealer installed system, are the parts installed factory items like the pieces used on the '78 turbo buick and the pontiac 301 for the '80 pace car? I am not familiar with the system other than it is a draw through system. I don't know if it has a limited production intake, or if it amounts to a system that is installed on top of a factory manifold.
If the pieces are limited production, replacement of damaged parts could get expensive. If they are factory pieces, locating them off of the Pontiacs or Buicks in salvage yards could save the wallet. The car is priced cheap enough and the condition is good enough to have a fun driver.

The car looks 98% Chevrolet, with an aftermarket hood and a Martin Turbosystem. Incredibly easy to maintain or repair/modify.

There were no GM dealer installed turbo packages for C3s. The Tech Center in Warren did a turbo install in a 79 or later car which showed up a time or two in the Corvette magazines of the time and in an old issue of Corvette News, but this was a one-off done in Warren and was never offered for production.

A friend of mine lost everything he and his family owned in those floods. I'll bet he wasn't when his possessions were under water and watching his life drown away uncontrollably.

Yeah, the damage here on the Jersey coast is unbelievable. I live on the central west part of Jersey and the winds were scary. Downed trees and poles everywhere. Took 2 weeks to get power back to my home. I lucked out with just a couple downed trees, but no damage to my home. I'm working in Port Newark for a customer right next to parking lots with thousands of brand new 2013 vehicles, different makes, that were all flooded in 4-8 feet of salt water. They are loading them on car carriers with forklifts. 330 Fisker Karmas, I saw a Nissan GTR, just thousands of cars... So sad...

I bought a 1980 'vette in December 1979 ($15,000) and the next day I was beat off the line by a new Toyota. I went to the local speed shop and they sold me a turbo kit for $1,500 plus a new hood ($250). $400 to install and $75 to paint the new hood. In September 1980 my buddy's new Trans Am beat the pants off me so I got rid of the 'vette shortly afterwords by trade-in for a '80 Camaro
At the time there was no dealer installed turbo and even when Yenko tried a come-back into the muscle car sales they didn't have any turbo for the Corvetts.
