Wink Corvette Keys

Hey Boys and Girls Does anyone know if the keys on 2000 c5 have two different purposes My push button key battery went bad and tried to crank with blank key that came with car and it turns on the ignition but wont start. I know some keys will only open doors ect. but wont start car because there is no chip in the key.

First off, that push button key thingy is called a fob. Second, I have never seen a C5 Corvette key that didn't have a VAT resister in it. If your key doesn't have a VAT resister, then it definitely is not going to start the car. If you need a new VAT key, then look at this thread. The person who owned the car before you obviously never knew the information that I am turning you on to.
