Hot sheds

I have a new tin shed for my garage workshop that can get very hot in summer. My question is have others found that over time the f/glass distorts with heat? I have t/tops that are bowing up at the front edge.

old pic but it can be seen on the left side of pic. What to do, have thought about a 4x2 across with a couple of lumps on it to push on bowed section? any thoughts?

What is "very hot"?

Enough to bow t tops? I doubt it.

You'd have melted weather seals and interior parts melted before deformed fiber glass.

Is that metalflake?
Throw a piece of radiant barrier plastic insulation over the car just just to reflect the heat back off the top. That radiant oven you have the car in can't be doing the glass any good especially over time. Although it's hard to say if that's what actually warped the top.

Yep that was red metalflake over black base. took it off and went yellow with fine holographic in clear as in avatar.
temps in shed are 40 to 50*c during summer(now starting). I think thats about 125*f to hot to be in working i can tell you.
think i might try the timber brace idea to try flexing it back into shape while its hot. has taken 5 or more years to get to where it is so wont hold my breath for a quick fix.

Yep its vented now just put in a whirlybird a month ago and made a huge difference. Would like to insulate it but funds dont allow that yet. finding i have to many projects on the go at the moment next project is to put cable operated flap in outlet of homemade sidepipes and divert out the back,pull cable to make noiseand fix aircon and put in trans cooler thats hanging on wall and fix t/top velcros and

There are some cheap insulation steps you can take:

- Check local roofing companies for 8 centimeter thick foam insulation boards. Also get some of the glue they use for application. Glue the boards to all sides.

- Paint the entire structure with white paint...apply liberally.

Should knock the temps down a few degrees.

Very cheap, shouldn't cost much at all.

Does the shed have a second lower vent to allow air to be drawn in? I've seen grates that have screening to keep critters out.

yep shed has good air flow so might check out the prices of insulation tomorrow but to hot to do anything after a couple of days working in 38* temps

Your local home improvement shop should have some materials. I used to do all kinds of Roofing work, and that always helped. I was on a tropical island where high-heat and humidity was a constant, and many people...including myself lived in a tin shack.

It's the radiant heat that cooks everything. If you can block it you have a major head start on lowering temps. Search radiant barrier. ... I'd still lay a piece of radiant barrier foil over the top of the cars, get it at lowes etc...

THANKS for all the replies guys, yep our LOWES is called BUNNINGS here. big cheap hardware store
just looking at my thermometer alongside my shed computer at 8am its showing 32*c(88*f) overcast and going for 41*c(106*f) today
