I wouldn't say a household making upwards of $450K is "middle class". I also fall into your description above, but I doubt that the number of actual job creators in the middle class is a majority. Some? Yes. Most? No. Most people in the middle class are working pay check to pay check just to live.

It's hard to define using only income. $450K in California is nothing...$450K in Florida and things look pretty good (as an example).

I agree.

My point though, it is a minority of middle class citizens that actually create jobs. A high majority of middle class citizens are 9 to 5'ers or union workers. Most would not have the skill nor drive to create jobs.

The middle class is a class of people in the middle of a societal hierarchy. In Weberian socio-economic terms, the middle class is the broad group of people in contemporary society who fall socio-economically between the working class and upper class. The common measures of what constitutes middle class vary significantly among cultures. Within capitalism, middle class initially referred to the bourgeoisie and petite bourgeoisie. However, with the immiserisation and proletarianisation of much of the petit bourgeois world, and the growth of finance capitalism, middle class came to refer to the combination of labour aristocracy, professionals and white collar workers.

So how many people in the middle class are "job creators"?

It's impossible to answer your question based on the "squishy" definition of middle class. Predator said the government says $450k, but I'd like to see where that came from because I've yet to find where the government ever defined "middle class". I think the politicians like to keep it nebulous so they can throw the term around and make everyone feel included, but that's another subject.

That being your point, I'm not sure why you replied to my post asking how many middle class citizens create jobs.

Most people who think they are middle class, are actually poor. At least by US standards. On the world stage, even those who are poor are 1%'ers.

I don't know. That was yesterday and I'd have to go back and reread it. I don't feel like it.

Here's to a new day!
