starter motor - scrap or keep?

Does a worn out original starter motor for an original LS1 in a C5 have any value other than core value?

Door stop, paper weight, book mark, wheel chock, hammer, shot put, boat anchor, counter weight, when thrown: assault weapon, hunting implement.

If Democrats treated guns like sex, they would want marksmanship classes in pre-school and would pass out ammunition like condoms.

Thanks a lot everyone for the information! Especially bringing to my attention the lame design of the original starter motor. Have now read a lot about the GM truck starter motor with long bolts but still haven't found any mention of the part number for it.

I not only give a part number for the better starter, I showed the box it came in and told you exactly where to buy it from in that thread. That is a huge thread with a lot of our usual amount of bantering but the information in it is priceless.
