Will be buying the ESCORT REDLINE as soon as I get back. If they're monitoring you, it's only fair that you monitor them.

Nah, no need to go into deep profound thought, theyre hypocrites, no doubt about it.
Countless tint violations written by officers with tinted windows.
One specific cop who gives out cell phone use violations while driving (not myself), only to see him use his cell phone while driving around town. Desk sargeant was notified and said they were allowed to use their phones while driving. ( I guess they get multitasking training while the common joe can barely turn the keys to start his/her car.
Received seat belt ticket from officer who was not wearing theirs. Was told they didnt have to because of their utility belt does not allow. My friend who is an officers calls this bullshit because his sargeant makes them wear theirs.
Police cars parked ikn front of fire hydrant while sitting down to lunch.
I can go on and on.
P.S. I hate it when people say officers go on the force to protect and serve the people. The are to enforce the LAW not protect the people. That is just something they write on their cars and the propaganda that is spread for complacency.
For example, if I have an accident with someone else and we trade our info, we can leave the scene of an accident. The only time they will definately come out is if the law is broken or if our cars cannot be moved and is obstructing traffic. AT least in NY.

All sounds like good reasons to live some where other than NY. Don't lump one group of officers with another.

Actually the cable guy doesnt get free cable, I asked. It is Comcast after all.
The difference is getting free cable doesnt affect my pocket, tickets for stupid shit does. If you think someone is being a baby for complaining to a boss about the conduct of their employees, then so be it... I guess you never spoke to customer service / manager for anything, because you are above the common man. You are a angel, god bless you.

Im not trying to generalize, but if you think the hypocrasy stops at the NY border your in for a rude awakening.
I have met really cool officers, my friend is one, but the sad fact is that there are a lot of bad one out there as well, not leading by example.

Here is a fitting story from todays Ft. Worth paper. A cop was arrested for DWI in a nearby suburb. His blood alcohol was 0.18 or more than twice the legal limit. A radar cop spotted him weaving and pulled him over. Guess what division the guy worked in? The drunk driver task force. Something like 19 local cops have had DWI's in the last few years and the chief is pissed. This guy is probably out of a job for one night of stupidity. Now he knows how his arrestees feel.

I just have better things to do than worry about the police car that's going faster than me. You don't want tickets? Don't do stupid shit and you won't get them.

That any other laws like it should get a cop fired. This behavior is not what I first described. Breaking the law like this is totally unacceptable. Also any patrolman who takes drugs or money or anything like that.

Riiiiight?!?! Because tinted windows really hurts the public. I dont recall ever mentioning getting a ticket going over the speed limit. If I was speeding and the cops can give two shits about me doing 10 over, then so be it.
Or getting a ticket at a bus stop when I am picking up passengers in my car which the LAW ALLOWS, as long as the time is reasonable. (2 minutes was reasonable) All stupid shit to you?!?!
When does a complaint to his / her superiors warrant action?
I dont care about getting the tickets themselves, but if you expect the public to follow the law, lead my example.
I have traveled to NJ with tints on because NY allows me to have tinted windows in the front. I have been stopped by NJ State police saying I have to remove my tints in front of them or I will get a ticket. I tell them I am allowed by compact law, tri state area to have the tints but they write the ticket anyways. I have to go to NJ and fight the ticket only to get it dismissed 100% of the time. Almost 100% of the time I tell them to call their superior and ask about compact law, they refuse and tell me to tell it to the judge. It is $50 per window, not including the bullshit court fees. So, I am to expect this bullshit. To the officer, he doesnt care if he hurts my pocket, so in turn I will try and hurt his by submitting my complaint.
I agree with you that all this petty shit is bullshit. But I dont think the LEO's breaking the law should be a perk.
I mean if it doesnt bother you that officers often break the very same law that they wrote you a ticket for then more power to you.

Gimme a break. I've seen more than my share of police officers do stupid shit in their cars. Hell, I've seen where they smash into each other.
I had one incident where one almost killed me on my bike. Fortunately I was paying attention. He waved sheepishly at me as if to say, "Sorry." I flipped him off.
