Boycott watching the Stae of the Union sit-com

Let's start a protest........

Boycott watching the State of the Union address on 02 Feb. Pass this along to everyone you know. Spread it across the land. We have the time.

Lets have a show of force to Washington, District of Corruption, that we, as Americans, are sick of how the nation is being run. Let the politicians know in advance that no one is going to watch this circus of lies as a show of solidarity and unity.

Also, let the criminals in Washington (for that is what they are) know that if they do not reverse the direction of this Republic, these same voters that boycotted their TV show, will vote to fire them next election.

We can do this, if you will help. Send it to all your contacts. They sent it to all their contacts. Within 3 days this idea can spread across the nation and into the halls of Congress. Politicians need to know in advance of the boycott, so it's validity will be confirmed.

Do it !

Why do they call it "common sense" when, in fact, it has become so uncommon?

That's my opinion, it outta be your's.

Do you think they care if anyone watches? They wouldn't give a damn if there weren't any cameras microphones within 100 miles.

"Protest" all you want...THAT's not the way to fix anything.

And lemme say this...but NOT watching (or listening) is akin to just sticking your head in the sand and pretending that it's not happening. I'm sure you'll tune in to the Super Spin Tornado post speech analysis from whatever your preferred flavor of news channel is. Why do that? Watch it directly, take what you will from it, and form your own opinion as to what was said and proposed.

I can already tell you that what will be said and proposed is the same stupid shit and lies that have been told many time before...State Of The Union? I can tell you that in 2 words, and it ain't Happy Birthday.

...but Obama will fix it...he promised...he just needs more money.

Sorry, I'm not buying any guilt trip. These things have become pure political spectacle complete with partisan booing and cheering from the peanut gallery (also known as the Congress). There is nothing of any consequence to be gained from seeing this BS firsthand. Any good newspaper can give me the salient points the morning after. I can't take that crap any more.

All I meant was that NOT watching (even by 100% of the population) doesn't stop the show from happening. I agree that these things are essentially positive slant offerings from whatever is speaking them. I laughed at Bush's...and I've laughed at Obama's.

I am still a firm believer in analyzing spoken words in spoken form, so the context, body language and tone can considered. The cliff's notes version in text the next morning just doesn't hit the same.

That's all...but a protest? Pfft...they don't care.

I agree. They don't care about anything but our votes, and they will tell any lie any time anywhere to get it.

These Washington assholes care about ratings and public opinion, I promise you that! And, if ratings were down 70%, and they knew it was an organized protest, it would get noticed, especially if Fox would pick this up and run with it.

Of course, it could backfire, and the ratings skyrocket. The MSM could doctor the numbers, but, naaaawww, they never do that!

It's like 30%...maybe as high as 50%...on a good day.

●In 2003, 62 million watched as President Bush outlined his justification for the war in Iraq in his SOTU Address — otherwise known as the Lead-Up to the Iraq War Address, or the Yellowcake Uranium Address.

●In 1998, 53 million watched, the day after President Bill Clinton delivered his equally riveting I Did Not Have Sexual Relations With That Woman speech.

●In 1993, 67 million watched the recently sworn-in Clinton deliver his Address to the Joint Sessions of Congress.

38 million tuned in to Obama's January 2012 address.
