Is that all there is???

The red rendering is an improvement. But overall, this is one heck of a big letdown. Ugly? No. But hardly some kind of exciting breakthrough--it's just plain ho-hum. And that's without even considering the infantile "mean-faced" rear end.

Even the much-bally-hooed improved interior is, design-wise, dull as toast.

I'm just hoping the real thing is a lot more shapely than this...

IMO, the Transformers Stingray concept (like it, don't like it = irrelevant in this context) set the "push the envelope change" bar very high. Many of us had expectations for a 21st century answer to the C2. Many of us are extremely disappointed.

Setting us up for a letdown

Exactly!!!!!! Fundamentally flawed strategy to tease the community with a high-bar design and then default to something strictly evolutionary.

And even describing the Jalopnik rendering as "evolutionary" is generous. The fact is, that same design would have been pedestrian 10 years ago...

Styling wise, perhaps "de-volutionary" ?

Oh, don't sully our boys DEVO, that way...! I'm still hopeful that the various renderings are "flat" and the real thing will be more voluptuous...

Again. It's certainly not ugly or incompetent--just lackluster and derivative. And doesn't live up in anyway to the Stingray concept.

I mean, the first time I saw the Jalopnik rendering, I thought... "Are you kidding? After all the Centennial-Transformers-Stingray huffing and puffing... THAT'S it?"

Seems to be Chevy's design policy, remember the Volt concept?

I can buy that description for most of the design, but that rear fascia is "incompetent" IMO. Yes, we'll know more about it next week, but I cannot see how that rear would fit with the rest of the design...plus it is really, really fugly.

Well, that's why I differentiated the basic design from the gangsta-teardrop/clown makeup/mean face rear end.

And I agree. The teardrop nonsense is just flat-out embarrassing... truly cringe-worthy. Can you imagine the FIELD DAY the Porsche community is going to have with this?

OUCH!!!!
