My Way of Relaxing and Therapy....

Do these over-sized scale ribbon shadow boxes mainly for enjoyment, and occasionally do requests, but this time, when completed, it will be hanging in Richard's Coffee Shop (military veteran's museum) located in Mooresville, NC.
I cut out the individual colors from bulk pieces for auto pinstriping and decals, which presents a very colorful and vivid display.
The ribbons are Audie Murphy's awards during WWII, which I believe he was the most highly decorated soldier during the war. It's not quite completed yet, missing some stars on the MoH, and the shadow box setting.

How unbelievably cool! Thank you!!... Audie Murphy. Amazing guy in many ways... Indeed, the most decorated member of the US military in WWII.

A great guy who suffered horrifically from PTSD before it was well understood or could be treated adequately... The word "hero" is overused; not in his case...

OK, I'm going to blatantly steal your idea. Quite a few years ago our fire department went from wearing all medals or decorations received on our Class A uniforms to a system of service bars similar to the military . . . such as you show here. In the past 40 years I have accumulated enough that I was very grateful when they went to the service bars (I was starting to look like Idi Amin, or the doorman at the Waldorf Astoria). While I typically keep all the hardware, including the actual medals, in a box under the bed, all of my children and grandchildren have been after me for years to come up with some sort of wall display. I've always resisted this, but I kind of like what you've done here. A lot of folks won't really know what the wall display represents, they may think it's just some sort of wacky wall hanging - and that's fine. The people who are interested and who understand what each of those bars represents will know, and that's good enough for me. So I'm stealing it. Thanks.

Any tips on how to proceed? Sizes, materials,and sources for them?

Forgive me asking but, are those actually Audie Murphy's ribbons? I ask because I've always liked Audie Murphy thought he was one of the good guys in more ways than one. Made some good and some bad movies but if one of his movies is on l'm watchin' it. Great work.
