And sure enough, just when I was going to pull the passenger door panel off, the phones went nuts, a ton of orders came in and my time to do this went "bye-bye".

So I called my local Vette guru, and had him put the new woofer in since my week compressed and killed any time I had to do this.

Sure is nice not to hear that flapping speaker on the bass and drums!

$90 to the mechanic, $146 for the speaker, and it's all good again.

rear speakers

Junkman, I'm coming to you cause you helped me a while back, and nobody else seems to posess the knowledge you seem have on corvettes.
I lost both rear speakers a couple weeks ago, no sound from either of them. I sent head unit to Doctor Don, in texas, and he said it was fine, and it was probably the processor. I purchased one of those and installed it, but no change. front amped speakers work fine, but still no rear speakers.
My queston is, according to schematic, the rear speaker feeds go through the " instrument panel electrical center" and there is a C2 and C3 connector there. Can i assume this is where the interior fuse panel is? I ohmed the rear speaker wires from the back of head unit, to the speaker, and there was no continuity, so I assume there is a bad connection somewhere. Do you agree? I checked both fuses, and micro relay. Thank you in advance.

First, you should start your own thread about this issue. You are hijacking Jim's thread.

Second, in regards to your trouble-shooting, you checked continuity from the rear speakers to the back of the head unit. That means that you completely ignored the IPEC, which sits smack in between those two devices and everything else in between. You need to be very specific in exactly which wire you checked from the specific rear speaker. For example, you should have checked the common wire from the RR speaker (Lt Blue in color), to the IPEC (and yes, that is the fuse box inside the car). That's your first run. Now before I go any further, you must have the service manual before anything else I say makes any sense. Do you have the GM ESi service manual?
