It's not that, it's just that you've never been fed any quality ice creme.

Call me when you take possession Ponch. We can go out and wreck it together. Maybe we can run into another C7 and kill 2 birds with one stone.

Oh yeah!!? Well, maybe you're just lactose intolerant, which is why the C7 gives you explosive diarrhea... uh, figuratively speaking... of course. Okay I'll be honest, I have no idea where I'm going with this ice cream analogy.

Wow! That rear end could be from a minivan!

However, I loved the view from the side, especially the convertible. It was very sharp looking from the side. I agree with whoever said that the car looks like two different halves put together. So put me in the group with those who are staying away from it. Camaroisque ass end and all, I would have to be able to drive blind to appreciate that thing. I'm sure it drives like a dream and all the interior amenities are probably very nice but I enjoy walking around the exterior of my C5.
The C7?

I know exactly what you are talking about. Whenever I'm near my C5 FRC I can't help but look at it. After I park it, I always turn around for a look when I'm walking away. When I see one going down the road I always have a good look, while I'm waving.

I don't know why, but I think that design, from the 99 FRC to the 2004 Z16 was a work of art...

To see all the things wrong with this car design, you have to look beyond the shiny paint.

Hey, I thought you liked shiney paint!
For me I think it's like when the C6 came out. A lot of people gave it a "no like". I thought the butt end looked like 'Bucky Beaver" especially with a white license plate, still do, but it's grown on me. I think the wider body with the flairs and extra vents and larger wheels and meat made the C6Z look so much better. They grew on me and I even owned a C6Z for a while, and it was the best damned car I ever drove, let alone owned.
I think the trend has been to go more angular in all the aspects o f the lines, as opposed to the 'roundness' of the C5, which is what I like the most about the C5. However, the stark angles do make the car look more aggressive. Right now, I'm lukewarm on the car, but I think it will grow on me.
One last point I'd like to make...
With all the 'haters' (I hate that word ) Someone could make a lot of Obamabucks coming up with aftermarket tweaks for the look...

It would have to be a ZO6 for me. For those that don't like it, it's like a song that you hate the first time but after you hear it a while it kinda grows on you. I think if the Camaro had the more angular lights first it would not be such a negative. I think an all black car will look fantastic hiding the black outlines and the vent.
Rear tires look a little skinny but may be the pic.

Honestly, the Viper taillights look more like the Caravan taillights then the C7 taillights look like the Camaro taillights.......damn that's a lot of taillights.

One thing is indesputable: The C7 design, far more than any past Corvette design has polarized Corvette loyalists (the GM term).
Even GM will tell you that the taillights were "inspired by the Camaro design that has also "inspired" the Malibu and several concepts. As for the rest of the rear design, if you like it great, a lot of us don't.
It is what it is. We can all yell at each other until the C8 comes out, or recognize that some like it, some detest it. the marketplace will decide, not posts here.

...and this is based on what set of facts? ...what statisitics? NONE.
More justification / rationalization to support your views. BOTH sides are doing this because the Corvette has inspired a lot of passion and emotion.
Design is subjective. There are young guys with C6s who hate the design. There are older guys with C3s that love it. As much as you might like to make a simple generalization about it, any generaliztion except one would be wrong.
The only true generalization is (again):
The C7 design, far more than any past Corvette design has polarized Corvette loyalists (the GM term).

Which to me means that they actually pushed the envelope this time. IMO, they haven't in a very long time. Probably since the first sharks.
Let's face it, the C4, C5, and C6 are fairly safe designs in comparison.
I, for one, welcome the effort.

I agree.
GM, for decades now, has been lagging in design and inventiveness.
I give GM an A for effort on the new Vette. It's the result that get's a C.
Actual sales numbers over the next 5 years will prove if they've succeeded or not.
