Actualy like any band saw the second the blade breaks it stops dead, since it is no longer under power.

My next concern would be how close his right hand is to the v-belt and pulley system. If he trips into the blade or the belt, he may wish he had gone to Home Depot for his lumber.

Oh yeah that v-belt would take a finger or two in a flash and the blade...that will take limbs.
