tires

my last few flats caused by air leaking from heat checks.
good tread but sun killed tires.
looking into new set. (p275 40 ZR 17)
looking for inexpencive and long lasting.
i dont drive fast anymore. car is a in town toy for me.
am looking at BFG sport comp 2.
at 200 each out the door.
is this a good tire? any less $$ brands?
again i dont need 150mph speed rated...

I get the Sumitomo HTR Z tires. Mainly because I have 315's in the rear and want matching tread on all 4 corners. There are very few like that. I get mine from Tire Rack. They've got prices better than $200 per copy.

Go on tire rack and look at the Kumho tires. Here's a link.

I had been using Kumho tires for a long time and love them. I only switched to Sumitomo because I changed wheels a few years ago and needed a 315. If Kumho made a 315 tire I would switch back to them.

Brodix heads, Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers, Lingenfelter cam, Superram, 2800 stall torque converter, 3:54 rear, Melrose exhaust system, long tube headers, 3" high flow cats, LT1 mufflers. ZR1 rims 17 x 9.5 front with 275's and 17 x 11 rear with 315's

Nitto Invos, just got a set at www.discounttiredirect.com

Ride smooth, quiet, quite happy with them, they replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport II RF's, noisy hard tire.

Good quality tire at a near unbeatable price, especially when 315's are needed. Traction and handling are better than most but not the best out there, But for the price hard to beat.
