Okay, I'll quit being sensitive. I just don't like seeing people do shade tree repairs on the car I love, even though it's their car and not my car. Call me crazy about the Corvette. It's the only dream car I ever wanted to own.

hey i had the extended warranty, they fixed it, it happened again, and im not the only one, i fixed it, its never happened again, shifts fine, of course i could have made a video and took a cut off wheel and cut it off even tin snips but i wasn't home, there are no visible signs of any appearance or mechanical damage, because there are none. the money i saved was enough to help build my nitrous kit and stand alone fuel system to run deep in the 9s and still shift perfect

Mine has been doing this as well. Seems 06 and later is OK, but all C5s and C6s with the same A4 automatic has this issue. dennis50nj, can you describe your 'fix' a little more? I'm not sure I quite grasped what you did. I've read too many threads about this where the dealer couldn't fix it correctly. I don't want to spend 1000+ replacing the shifter only to have it happen again.

from park to drive and back again and it works fine for
another month....
