1980 engine swap

I have a corvette that's been pro streeted without the inside roll cage. It had a small block with 142 blower installed ,the motor is shot. I want to purchase an edelbrock #46700 crate E-force supercharged engine with the billet specialties Tur Trac serpentine system. My delemia is they (billet specialties) can't tell me if it will fit. Nor Edelbrock will say. Billet says they think , but aren't sure that the bottom pulley will hit cross member. The problem is that once purchased , there is no return policy for opened cases or crates. For approximately $14,000 I was hoping maybe someone else has tried this engine swap. Thanks Jimmy

You might ask around in the C4 forums, raidmagic and others have done LS conversions and would know what might fit.

Here's a place that you can get it for 11 grand but that aside before I spent 11 or 14 grand on that I'd do an LS swap. Assuming you have the abilities to do the swap yourself you can build one hell of a LS motor for 11 grand. That will be faster and more daily driver reliable than that carbed set up. Just my .02

BTW I moved this to the C-3 section for you so it would get more views.

A modded LS1 can be a great motor with big performance but it can be a double edged sword for a do it yourselfer because you become VERY dependent on the TUNE and consequently the TUNER. Being in NJ there are plenty of good tuners around.
I had a stroked NA LS7 in my '98 TA and I ran mid 9's with it but I hated being so depenent on the guy with the laptop and the dyno so I sold it and now have a carb on top of my sbc.

As far as the pulley clearing the crossmember I say so what?
You can always modify the crossmember to clear the pulley-no big deal.
