I know your mantra, shut up and hope they let you play.
That is a tactic of the stupid. What cost the WH was putting another limpdick moderate liberal in the race. 5 million people who could swallow the McCain nomination, could not swallow the Romney nomination.

He, and you, can keep laughing. It doesn't matter to me. I will still hound him, Barry, TurboTax Timmy, Uncle Ben, etc.
The most progress to come from this thread is the final confirmation that you are anything but right wing.

And there you have it the we didn't go far right enough theory. Even though polls showed that the further right candidates polled considerbaly lower than Romney. I know I know Ron Paul would have cleaned up....and then little pink elephants would replave all the birds on the planet and everything would be just perfect.
Your vision of the republican party is about 5 million guys swearing at the country for not doing what they say while they have not one single representative left in power. Well enjoy your little pitty party because it seems to be getting here faster than I could have imagined.

There were many candidates who would have been a much better draw than Mitt Romney. Ron Paul is just one of a few. But for some reason, the GOP had to resort to underhanded shenanigans and letting their primary be decided by blue states instead of red. The leadership has been infiltrated with yankers like you who want to be democrats but can't come to terms with themselves. This party better move right, or it dies.

My vision is offering an alternative, not trying to emulate the democrats. That has proven once again to be a failed tactic. And moving right, has proven to be a winner (2010).

Hell, even loony lefty Jay Leno is talking about this story.
On NBC's Tonight Show, the host actually reported
- albeit with jokes, of course - the FBI's investigation
of Sen. Robert Menendez's (D-N.J.) alleged involvement
with Dominican prostitutes (video follows with
transcript and commentary):
JAY LENO: Well, in more serious news, the FBI
investigating New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez
for allegedly soliciting Dominican prostitutes.
So, once again, foreign workers doing the jobs
Americans don't want to do, right?
Well, the FBI says Menendez agreed to pay the
prostitutes $500 but then only gave them $100.
So, he had sex like a Democrat but is a fiscal
conservative like Republicans. That's what we need in Washington! We need more men like that! Yeah. A little different when they're spending their own money, huh?

You may be correct in some of your numbers, but you are wrong about the actual cause of the loss. It was multi-faceted, and a weak candidate was one of the prime factors. But Romney got something like 47% of the popular vote. None of the other candidates left in the top 5 could have even garnered 40%. Was Romney weak? Yes. Were any of the other candidates likely to draw more votes than Romney? Not in a million years. The vast middle of this country is not looking for a far right solution. It may be the best solution, but it won't get more than about 25% of the voters. The Republicans have to appeal to somone other than white men to ever win any more national elections. They are working on doing that, but any effort they make will be derided by Tea Partiers as being weak spined. Well, which do we want -- a strong spine with zero influence on where the country goes, or some accomodation on fringe issues and a chance to have some national influence?

Thats a shame. It's really too bad that any who is willing to be reasonable get jettisoned from the party. The Republicans are just loading up the bullet train to Irrellevantville. Unfortunately the bridge over Compromise Gap is out and the conductor of the "Parties of Olde" Express will just think "Yea....we can make it."

Well, the repubs are capitulating on just about every
issue being discussed at the moment, as they seem
to believe that taking a RINO stance will provide them
votes in the next election.
At the rate they are going, they will end up with even
fewer votes in this next election.
These numbnuts seem to actually think that
Obama has a mandate that must be enacted.
Actually pretty pathetic!
My optimism is fading because all I can see is
country looking for more Nanny style government
steeped in Socialism.
Obama has to be sitting back and laughing his
ass off with regard to the immigration issue.

Well, they have slim control of one branch of Congress. They simply have no leverage. How do you get more leverage? You get more voters! And the last election showed that a run for the right does not win voters. The masses want conversation and problem solving. Those things always require more compromise from the party with the weakest bargaining position. Right now, that's the Pubs. If they want that to change, they had better find a way to enlarge the tent.

Did you bother to read what I was agreeing with. Tex's remarks were exactly in keeping with what I said about Newbs oppinion that the party did not go far right enough.
Seriuosly with you senior moments seem to be senior weeks. Maybe you should have a responsible party check what you are saying before you hit submit reply.
