Performance Build Center Relocating to Bowling Green
The PBC is relocating to Bowling Green. This is a great move in my opinion.

Probably not so great a move to the 29 people in Wixom. But to have the whole experience in one location for the customer is probably better.

Is supect they might be relocated. The Pontiac Facilty is getting a 200M engine development and testing expansion and it's not that far away.

Most of them would probably like living in BG versus the Detroit area. Weather, cost of living and community environment (?) would seem to be more advantageous in BG.
Even for the plant tours (if you aren't building your engine), this would be very cool to see. I'm sure it will be a "light" clean room atmosphere and probably have a glass wall along, at least, one side for the tours. Should be cool.

The performance build center's first job was to hand assemble LS7 engines for the C6 Z06 and later for the CTS-V. They also hand built the Super Charged Northstar engines for the STS-V and the XLR-V. They also build the Dry Sump LS3 engines, and the SC Ls engines for the CTS-V and the ZR-1 and the Camaro ZL1. ...also the COPO Camaro engines. At one time I think they built some of the SC or turbo 4 cyls, but I'm not certain about this one - might not even have made it to production, or just startup for the Turbos?? Can't recall.
It's interesting to note the the LT1 is scheduled to be built on a regular engine line in (Wixom?) and will NOT be built in BG...not sure about the dry sump LT1. Therefore, we are being told, in essence, that there will be at least one special engine (supercharged as we saw in the leaked CAD drawing?) that will be built in BG.

No, the CTSV and zl1 engine the LSA is built in Mexico. The engines built at Wixom were mostly LS3's for the GS (by numbers anyway), along with the LS7, LS9, and the engines for the COPO Camaro's.
