Anyone comparing new Corvettes to new Mustangs?
I normally don't even pay much attention to Mustangs. Last Sunday when the Ford dealer was closed I happened to be walking my dogs when I spotted a new Boss Mustang. I was surprised to see it has 444 horsepower while the base Corvette has 430 horsepower. Just curious if anyone has driven the new Boss. I have had four Mustangs in the past while my current Corvette is my 5th. My last Mustang was a 99 Cobra which left a really bad taste in my mouth. They had a recall on them shortly after I purchased mine because they didn't produce the amount of horsepower they advertised. After they did their so called fix they were not willing to dyno the cars to show the ending results. They said you would just have to take their word that it was fixed and producing the correct amount of horsepower. I was pissed and traded it for my C5 that I've had for the last 13 years. I forgot to mention the list price on the Boss I looked at was $45,000.00

Apples and oranges...
It's going to take a lot more than 14 HP to overcome the 500 lb weight difference.

And even if the cars weighed the same, do you really feel the difference of 14Hp? To me, anything short of 50Hp ain't worth my time. I know others feel differently but I want absolutely NO doubt that my hair line receded when I stomped the pedal.

Overall performance isn't even close between the two. I can't imagine a Mustang ever keeping up with a Corvette on the track, even with similar HP numbers.

Why do they call it "common sense" when, in fact, it has become so uncommon?
