Hi all,
I've been working with carbon fiber and fiberglass for a while now, especially with more expensive cars. I recently finished a M5 and an Aventador.

I've decided to make a mold from the hood from my '76 that I gave to a friend but will be bringing it back so I can do so. Just wondering if anyone is interested in one or other parts. First I will make a mold for the stock hood and later will graft a L-88 scoop into it and make a mold of that one as well. I can make cheaper versions that are 100% fiberglass, fiberglass with a carbon fiber outer layer, 100% carbon fiber, as well as carbon fiber/kevlar hybrids.

I was thinking of doing seat backs or other interior, maybe T-Tops as soon as I have the time.

Again, just gauging interest for the Corvette community.

I'd love to have some carbon fiber parts (real stuff). Affording it is my problem.

I think this would be a great idea. Cost would be the deciding factor.

As my car is complete, I most likely would not be interested at this time, but I definately would have been interested when I was building my car. I bought new hood, t tops, spoilers, bumper covers, and would have loved CF mirrors.

I'd think it would be a great market, if it's affordable.

Other parts, either full CF or CF covered, would be interior console covers, dash/guage clusters, Halo panels, interior door panel/trim, seats....

I'l always interested in lightweight parts. It just depends on the weight difference and the cost per pound.

A carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser for my 80' would be really cool.

(no spare tire in the way)

I had a similar operation startup expected this spring but unfortunately my machine shop burnt 2 days after Christmas. This has pushed me back close to a year as I rebuild the shop I earn a living in. My mentor from Cali will still be here in a month or two to get me back on track with my hobby business. Good luck!

I am in the finishing stages of a mold for a generic 14" air cleaner which I'll be offering in carbon fiber if anyone likes. I'll post pics of my first one. I had done an Edelbrock piece, but due to obvious copyright issues will not be having it available to everyone

I'd be interested in the front spoiler for my 76, would it be larger to grab more air?

CF hood would be cool. CF t-tops or a one piece CF top would be cool too. I have a long L88 scoop I was going to mold on my factoy hood (because the ecklers just doesn't fit as well). It might make a good mold/donor.

What are you using for an outer layer of clear on the cf parts? Auto urathane? Poly? Epoxy?

Like previously stated.....price would be a deciding factor.
