Street Use: Quick Time Performance (QYP) Elextric Cut-Outs

California; 2006 (C-6) Z-51, stock exhaust system
Has anyone used the QTP cut-outs on a stock C-6 on the street (not track)? If so, what was your experience in terms of sound at idle, at acceleration and cruising? What risks are there with the fully open as to carbon monoxide?
The cost of the QTP is about a third to a quarter of the Corsa, Borla, etc. and interests me since you can apparently control whether you're running 10%-100% open. Pretty much stock to screaming wild.
