* FiTech EFI 4- 600 HP System Install Thread *

I just ordered a FiTech EFI system today and am looking for advice on what fuel system to use.

Should I go with the Command Center they offer (yes I have read the thread on Chevelles.com) and hope that they have worked out all of the bugs from their first units sold?

OR

Should I go inline, perhaps intank?

If I go intank is it easier to just purchase an '82 sending unit and upgrade the pump to a higher volume version?

Any experience/thoughts etc. are appreciated.

Les

Hi Les, you could always try the C5 regulator/rtn unit first. The big thing with the FiTech CC unit is to limit the fuel pressure to it so it doesn't overheat.

Let me know when you're ready to install as I am debating going this route (or Holley Sniper) and I can give you a hand.

Thanks Greg and Sly,

I was just looking at posts online from an '81 owner and he had great success with the Command Center.

I think that's the route I will go.

I think the installation should be pretty straightforward.

When does everything ship? Did you get the 5/6 sp trans installed?
Sam (SAMMAN) had Santo install the FiTech on his Olds last summer, went with an new tank setup.

Should get the Fitech unit tomorrow. Still have to order the Command Center.

I went with another TH350. It was built by Jakesperformance.com in Texas built to handle 700HP. It has a 3000 Stall Torque Converter. Works well with my 3.73 geared differential built by Mike Dyer (tracdogg2)

Okay, I received the FiTech unit less than an hour ago.

Here it is! I just placed it onto my intake. I have to wire it up and install the Command Center. I can't wait to drive my Vette with this new system!

Les

The Unit is in place! Let the fun of installation begin!!!

Sly can confirm that you'll have to use the handheld to select the CC as default is set to off. I wonder if many who had CC failures due to overheating had not selected the CC option. Did you have any issues with the supplied O2 and/or temp sensors?

Les did you need to order the throttle bracket attachment? When does the CC arrive?

Greg,

I didn't order the throttle bracket attachment. Do I need it?

CC arrived today!

The std throttle component was not designed for a Chevy system from what I remember seeing. I had emailed Ken when they first started shipping that charging $35 for a GM attachment was rediculous.
Since you have the tb on your manifold try hooking up your existing cable to the top attachment point.

Will do. I'll figure it out one way or another.
