The car is a hot rod not a beauty queen, I plan on swapping heads and cam this spring time. 3.73 rear diff gear will also be installed with replacement trans. Stock wheels and tires
This car a salvage rebuild and this is not a daily driver
You lost or fried the 3-4 clutch in the 4L60E trans.
An accumulator piston may have failed causing all the headaches.
RPM is a good transmission but they are very expensive.
I like building myself. I know exact what I have then.
You may want to check local or regional around you.
See if you have a decent transmission builder around.
If your Street /Stripping the car or have intentions to,
They make conversion kits to install a Time Proven 100 % Reliable Turbo 400 Trans.
It may seem like a step backwards but it is not.
Serious drag racers have put 3,800 HP through a Turbo 400 trans. No Failures.
You cant do that with any other.
The 4L60E is safe to use up to 500-550 Hp. But its pushing it.
They live happy 300-425 Hp day in day out.
One key made in the USA Parts are gone....4L65E Planetary gearsets made in Ohio.
Only used made in 2005.
After that production went to Mexico.
Ok till real drag race shock loads applied.
The stock 4L60E 4-pinion gearsets safe to use 200 HP-400 HP max typical.
Put more though it lives or don't. No Guarantee.
