Quick Question on Tires

Hey all,

Long time reader that hasn't posted very much here. I just had a quick question. I am about to replace my original tires on a 2010 Z06 and I have heard very good things about both the Nitto Invo tires as well as the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The Nittos are considerably cheaper than the Michelins and I was curious on what peoples thoughts where between these two tires and if they had any suggestions for other tire brands that I should look into as well. I'm trying to find a tire that I like that won't break the wallet since the stock tires that came with the Z06 barely lasted 12k miles. Thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Also, the specific tire sizes I was looking at were as follows:

Nitto: Front: 275/35ZR-18 99W XL B
Rear: P325/30R19 94 COR RF

Michelin: Front: 275/35ZR18XL 99Y B
Rear: 325/30ZR19XL 105Y B

Does that look right to everyone?

I'm running Nitto 555's and they are quite good. I drive mine (a heavily modded 72 with 275/40-18's all around) hard, and got 16k miles out of the rears (with a fair share of, um, tire spin), and am up to 18k and going on the fronts and I estimate at least another 5k left in them, including autocrossing. I've heard good things about the Invo's also. They are a newer design then the 555's I have, but I'm thinking of skipping over them and going straight for the kill with the NT 05's next time I buy. They may be too much for you though, at least as far as wet weather and longevity is concerned.

Sounds like you drive your car pretty hard. If you go over 100 now and then, money should be no object. When you are going 130, is the savings of a few hundred dollars worth the risk? Get the Michelins unless you nearly always stay under 90-100. Just my humble opinion.

Been there done that

I posted a while back on this subject if I can find it I will re post.
I have gone through both tires and many more like Goodyear craps ect, the INVO I still have on my car. Good tire less noise but not good for high speed running on a vette trust me I drive mine at top speeds track ect. The difference in the two is the sidewalls INVO are soft feel for me but good for straight line running the MICH are a whole lot better for cornering less flex, it really depends on your driving, do want a long lasting tire. Like say, General Tire makes one heard great things about them. ( just not for me) Remember Just one thing there is nothing worse than the your last words, I wished I bought better tires for a 505 hp car. Do some studying and buy what is your style of driving. I hope this helps, this is just my two cents worth
