The X-47 was developed for the Navy. Once it is carrier ops qualified it will be the Navy's first stealth aircraft. The specs say it will decrease the danger of carrier landings since it will be totally under computer control during it's flight. No human factor during launch and landings, only during the mission ops.

It is a subsonic, but truly a stealth platform which makes for a great first strike capability.
