Smoking Vette Official Build Thread

First of all i would like to introduce myself, my name is Eddie and i'm from Texas. This is my first corvette and the first time i've ever worked on one. Most of this build will be completed by my father and myself in our spare time.

I bought this car for 3,500 in Austin, body needs work but nothing major, frame and birdcage are solid nothing major. As far as drivetrain in has a 350 GM goodwrench crate motor with low miles and a 4 speed Muncie. Interior is in rough conditions but its all there. I will be working on it at my backyard most of the time under a tarp lol while i finish a storage room i'm working on right now. This will be a total overhaul restoration.

how i first got it

I removed the bumpers, doors, interior and had some work done on it

I planned initially to leave it stock looking until i found out about the flares that were being done by Josh who has great customer service by the way and i decided on the Kaos flares.

how they look mounted on the original body panels

I had some time to work on it finally ..

i will be ordering the rear bumper very soon, any comments and suggestions are more than welcomed

Any chance you're anywhere near DFW? I'd love to see the flares going on so I can get ideas on how to do mine. I live just west of FW.

Good luck with your project.

What's the history on your Vette, how did you find it?

WELCOME! Looks like you have quite a project ahead, but it should be great when it is done.
Have you gotten wheels and tires for your ride yet? I just ask because it is the painful ($) part and also it is nice to have them on the car so you can make sure you have the flares lined up to fit the wheel just right.
Your photo of the flares hanging on the car reminds me of mine:
Keep us posted as you progress. Can't wait to see how it evolves!
