Cartek Scams again...
Another CARTEK Nightmare. Just when I thought it was over with this place, it get's worse.....
Just a little reminder, My engine was built by CARTEK last year this time. I spared no expense. Forged 429, Callies Crank, Morel Lifters, ported heads,4x cam etc...$25+K ..
I'll post a pic of the bill for all to see the goodies I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING!
After 1 month and 1 track day I had no oil pressure, they warrantied the engine and gave me the car 2 months later..(theres a whole thread on that problem I had) Originally they claimed it had 575rwhp, and I had it dynoed at another shop and it was off by 50hp. It dynoed at TTP at 524rwhp. Matt re-tuned it to 549rwhp, OK, better but still not there...
Unhappy with the result, I picked up a Cam from Texas Speed. The LS7R.
Matt installed it and we got the car up to 562, and Vette docs got me to 577.. Now I'm felling better. OK.... Then......3 months( today Jan 9, 2009) later I have Vette Docs pull the heads off because I hear ticking. Turns out a couple of lifters went bad... No problem right? WRONG?
The lifters are not Morels, and the Pistons are not the 4.130 I paid for there 4.125...HMMMM..
What would you do? I paid for an engine that was supposed to have morel lifters and 4.130 pistons, and that's not what I got. WTF!
SO I'M A GENTLEMAN, I called Max at CARTEK and explained my findings... His reply was "we warrantied the motor when we didn't have to because we are a new company now.. We did you a favor. (that's real ethical business practices, way to keep clients).. We rebuilt your motor with comprable parts".. WTF! COMPRABLE PARTS!
A new video is here for you to save yourelf some trouble.. To show my fellow Vette guys that these guys are unethical, and shady, stay far away....
We still haven't opened up the rest of the motor. I'm sure I will find issues with the block. I will follow up with more video.
Cartek had an opportunity to make this go away, they opened up a can of worms. All they needed to do was pay me for the parts I had paid for. Instead, they blew me off.

That is terrible. The fact they blew you off is worse. I'm thinking lawyer if they aren't willing ot resolve as they should. I would request a new motor but that's me. What a bunch of BS. Keep us posted

If you could only see what was in my car. I will post pics and probably pursue them for charges I paid and items not done to the car. I have detailed pictures. You can't fucking beleive how things were done...heads ported past the gaskets..YES thats right..past the gaskets..WTF. Sorry to hijack but your thread just got me all fired up again. I am having some other items checked out but things were really wrong. it's a shame....seems like there are good and bad cars from there shop....I was in denial. I thought mine was good. Several people will say things about what i did with the car...blah...blah...blah. I don't care if it blew up, it's the shoddy work I found upon disassembly. Be prepared to get bashed by the Cartek guys...I know I'll get bashed for these comments.

I do know that Dave was involved in some of my ass rape I thought he was a nice guy...wow did he fuck me.
If you saw my bills and what they charged and then saw what we found in my car
I never mind paying top dollar, but you better give something good. I was just a dummy and should have paid more attention.

4.125 is the stock bore size.
That isn't a Comp lifter it's a stock GM lifter.
Next question is how much clearance is there between the piston and the cylinder bore?? If that piston is 4.125 the stock piston bore is 4.125+/- .001. A forged piston in a NA motor requires at least .0045 bore clearance
It never ends.
Sorry for your trouble. Let me know if I can help.

Find other people burned by Cartek and file a class action lawsuit.
