WGI was great. 70-80* with a breeze, and sunny. A couple of wrecks, two cars shooting flames out of exhaust and engine bays, but every vette came back in tact. Nice to meet a couple of vette owners from all over the northeast. a couple of very accompolished vette/racer guys developed a hole in their header and fabricated a header" plug" out of muffler pipe/coke cans and header wrap.
I was trying a new set/brand of tire, and never really quite trusted them, until the latter part of the second day. Normallt I run the v710's but I corded them, so I picked up a very nicely priced set of RA1's. The Kuhmo and MichelinPilot Sport Cups do not make nay noise until they can no longer grip and they give up. The RA1's make more noise than a jailhouse gang bang on some fresh meat. so I was reluctant to push them, when I finallydid, they held, but got greasy when really hot. Some of the turns , they would push, so I had to back off.
WW and Roger are very, very fast. At the top of the esses they were in the 130-140 range, at the end of the back straight, they were in the 160's. As Bob would say "We were moooovin" Barry did very nicely on track, even though he had no brakes, it didn't effect hiem till it was time to stop . He did very well, two session in the morning we changed his front brake pads, tow sessions in the afternoon, we changed his front pads. On the way home in the parking lot of a closed motel, we changed his rear pads.
It was a gret time, if you guys think track rentals are cool, you've got to try a RR course.

So lets see, I challenged you last yr. and you ran out, spend 2 grand on 1 7/8 headers and gained 3 rwhp, then you spent 3 months and $1,500 on the 18" rear widening rim job..........then you realized you need a clutch.........another $2k.
I sense a sign of weakness
......... let me get a set of comparable tires and we'll do this. For the ultimate run, we can do this on the Toy for Tots in the fall.

The only fear I have is that you are going to come up with a bunch of bogus excuses after you lose...
My header swap was done to prove a point; no one had ever posted a direct back to back comparison between the two before and there was a ton of speculation on some almost mythical gains that I knew were impossible, but no one would listen. I did the comparison and yes, as you noted, the gains were negligible. So you can not claim that my car makes more power now than it did before.
And it did a 0-60MPH run in 3.1 seconds on the stock clutch, so unless you think it did that with a slipping clutch and can actually go faster, it really won't be any quicker once the new clutch goes in; I had to do that because I have a big race event coming up in Indianapolis this May 9th and part of that event will be several back to back drag passes so I didn't want to chance my stock clutch in that situation 800 miles from home. For the roll-on race we agreed on the stock clutch was perfectly fine.
I'll agree about the tires, but if you were planning on having run flats for our race beforehand, I will be just as happy to put my stock sized Michelins back on the car for that event
I'm down for a run at Toys For Tots, but I may have more stuff done to my car by then; your best bet is to PM me when you'll be doing some of your "runs" one of these evenings/weekends and I'll drive up to NY for it
I will also be mounting a *rear facing* camera on my trunk so I can get the whole race on tape

Nice one, I clearly remember someone was doing the same and mounted a camera facing backwards for the race but the car he raced was always ahead, no footage on his camera at the end. Oh anotherthing, he posted the video and said check this video and tell me if there was a race., but the only thing is he never knew there was a video in the other car facing backward.

on a side note, this is Digital Corvettes, stats, technical data & test data don't mean shit here!
