Quoted from here:

"For 2011 there will be a Z07 — I don’t know if it will officially be called a Z07 or a Z06 with an extra option package. What those extras will consist of is a Z06 with pieces from the ZR1. From what I understand it will have a larger radiator (ZR1’s???) plus ZR1 stabilizer bars, shocks and springs plus the F55 knob on the console. PLUS the ceramic brakes from the ZR1 (a different color caliper — probably a darkish gray) and ZR1 wheels in the competition gray color. I’m actually pretty sure all of that will simply be a package for the Z06 along with another package that will have black outside mirrors (regardless of the body color), a black carbon fiber roof, and the front splitter and rocker panel extensions also in the black carbon fiber with a ZR1 spoiler. So I guess you’ll pretty much have a ZR1 without the engine… Kind of like getting a Z06 without the engine by buying a 2010 Grand Sport…"
"Some other stuff I paid attention to: There was a car coming down the line in a new color — it had some black mirrors too so I’m wondering if it could have been one of the Z07 models. The interesting color was a metallic orange. Definitely not Atomic Orange — could it have been the Sunset Orange from before? When I asked the name of the color nobody knew or weren’t saying. It was definitely a 2011 because there was a handwritten sheet hanging from the front. The seats were different too with some extra stitching and the two tone pattern was a little different on the seat bottom.
And I also over heard a conversation about the aluminum frame being on all Corvettes. The response I heard was something like “in the past stuff added to more expensive models tends to trickle down.” Sort of a politician’s answer I suppose."

(from CorvetteConti's Post earlier)
"Goodyear’s Newest Eagle Flies on 2011 Corvette ~ February 2010
AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (NYSE: GT) is announcing its newest ultra-high performance tire, the Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2, and its arrival is boosted by the achievement of an original equipment position on the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
The new Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 builds upon a three-decade relationship between Goodyear and Corvette. For Corvette owners and other enthusiasts who demand the most from their performance automobiles, the Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 is “street-refined, but track-capable,” according to Bob Toth, Goodyear’s director of new products.
An asymmetric, directional tread design with massive tread blocks on the outboard shoulder help enhance dry cornering grip, while sweeping Aquachannel grooves on the inboard side of the tread help enhance wet cornering grip. An innovative multi-radius mold shape helps to offer precise handling and smooth, even wear.
Even the appearance of the tire is important; a serrated band sidewall styling and distinctive lettering add to the overall ultra-performance look.
“The new Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 is positioned as a race-inspired, ultra-high performance dry traction tire for select supercars. With a left-side, right-side specific tread design, it offers superb dry traction and precise handling, complementing both the performance and appearance of sports cars,” Toth said.
The tire, tested on some of the most renowned road courses in North America, will be available this summer in these run-flat sizes: P275/35ZR18 and P325/30ZR19.
Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tire companies. It employs approximately 70,000 people and manufactures its products in more than 58 facilities in 24 countries around the world.

Great info! I didn't expect them to throw so much ZR1 packaging at it, but I bet lots of buyers will love it. I'm more of a barebones - just the essentials guy, but this will offer full on goods like the C6 GS.

That is awesome!
Its good to see GM allowing more variation using off the self parts. This hopefully will make it easier for people to get exactly the car they want and will bring more people into the dealerships.

Get a ZR1 then. Those mods should add over $15k to the price of the Z06, not far from big brother.

Does this Z07 mark the end of the run for the Z06? With the factory race team going down in displacement here does this leave the 427 LS7?

Could be...but displacement isn't the only number in the power game, if the 5.5 gives you the same power as larger motors. The race car sounds pretty wicked and there is more and more collaboration between the race team and the production car team, so its possible that this Z07 trim is going to get really hot.
Some vette folks have been asking for a stripped, yet powerful "race trim" and maybe this is it? No fiddly supercharger to worry about, but all the lightweight goodies. Possible.

2011 Z06 Z07 Option Package Details
Overall it looks pretty nice
But I ain't Giving up an LS7 for a Direct injection 5.5 liter motor and Giving you the same kind of money " Ain't Happening"
Less Cubes & Horsepower = Lower MSRP
you can throw all the Zr1 spoilers and rims on it you want
But you ain't getting no 90k out of me for a 5.5 liter motor
Bon
