C6 Check Engine Light!!! HELP!

If you couldn't tell by the title, my check engine light went on last night. I am fairly confident it was a loose gas cap (those damn attendants, this wouldn't be the first time [happens on my maxima all the time]). Anyway, the light is on STEADY, all the time. I turned the car off and on about 5-6 times to no avail.

I really want to avoid disconnecting the battery because I DO NOT feel like re-indexing the windows...

I've found sites that inform you how to check codes and reset the light for the C5, but I can't find anything for the C6 (maybe i'm just dumb and missing it)...

Is the process the same?

turn on car (not engine), hit reset, hold options and press fuel 4 times?

please help, i'd like to reset it after work today!

P.S. the car will be going back to the dealership anyway due to my front left bose speaker dying, so if I reset it and it comes back on they can take care of it!

Thanks guys/gals!

there is no tricks to read the c6 codes, you need a tech II hp tuners, or a OBDII code reader, you can get one for less then $100, it will let you clear the codes

Why would they allow it for the C5 and not the C6? That doesn't make any sense to me...

Revenue. They can charge you to read the codes at the dealership after the warranty expires

It's very hard and a complicated process.

I guess i'm going to have to let the stealership take a look at it when they change my 'blows' front left speaker....

I just hope they don't ping me for changing the intake!
