My visit to custom image corvettes!!!!

Well just about anyone here who visits the C3 forums knows of Josh Powers and his shop CUSTOM IMAGE CORVETTES. However to my knowledge knowone has ever really been to his shop that visits the forums.

As we all know Josh is pretty much the LS Engine swap GURU and specializes in c3 corvettes.

I was pretty much his First full swap customer when he originally started his business.

And we all know the work he has done to MISTRESS and KAOS.

Well during my vacation I was on my way to drop another Project off to Josh to have some work done while I was deployed.

When I got there I pretty much hung around the shop and watched/helped his brother work on some of the new fiberglass molds for Joshes Fibergass devision that he is setting up.

Before I talk about the shop I want to talk about the guy himself Josh Powers.

When I got there i was very impressed with his hospitality and the fact that he pretty much made sure I had what I needed while i was there. He also invited me to dinner with his family and allowed me to stay overnight at his place to save on the price of a hotel.

I have been dealing with Josh for about 2 years now as far as business is concerned and I can officially now classify him as a freind.

Now on to the shop, You have all heard about Josh starting to make custom fiberglass molds so here is a sneak peak

Josh sacraficed his paint job and waiting to finish building Mistress so that he could use the body that he has HUNDREDS of hours of body work into to actually make molds of pretty much the entire car.

He Also did the same thing with KAOS. Rather than keep trying to talk about it I will let the pictures do the talking.

As you can see here Josh is making FULL molds of the fenders of his car. What this will allow you to do is instead of chopping up your fender and putting in the flares then adding tons of filler and more fiberglass to mold them in this does it all in one.

What these fenders will benifit is

1. Seamless install by attaching at the factory bonding seams
2. WAY less labor and time to install saving thousands of dollars if you have a shop do it
3. no longer have to rely on body fillers to smooth over the seams
4. AND THE BEST PART, Offers and QUICK and DIRECT replacment part incase you ever damage your custom flared panels.

Now not only is he doing this with the MISTRESS body panels. He also did this with the KAOS body panels.

These are some of the molds taken off KAOS, the flares on this car have over 600 hours of work done on them. something that would cost tens of thousands of dollars to have done to your car can now cost a fraction less, and Offeres a direct replacment part if yours is ever damaged.

CONVERTIBLE CONVERSIONS AND REPLACMENTS!!!!

Hoods!!!

This is just a SMALL part of what Joshs shop can do.

I also learned that just about anything you can buy performance wise for a C3 he is a distributor for and he can get.

I found out alot of things that I could get threw him that would of saved me alot of money

So the golden rule here is when you need something for your C3 ASK JOSH FIRST!!!!

I was very Impressed with his Shop especially for one so new. Josh is really trying to bring out parts for the C3 that knowone else makes but we have all been hoping to see someone make.

Look for more custom type body panels from Custom image in the future.

Now the reason I was there was to drop off this

YES YES i know its not a corvette, this is my 2001 Trans am ws-6. I am leaving it with him for the next year while I deploy so it can have a complete drivetrain and suspension upgrade, as well as some paint work.

So Josh is definetly not limited too C3s or Corvettes.

Josh and his crew are very talented, If I lived a little closer I would be into some
serious money troubles. I would love to have him help me with my LS2 swap.

Thanks for sharing.

Riggs.

Living the dream. Good luck with the shop and nice forward thinking on making the complete panels. Those will sell for sure.
