I agree.

not sure about that Justin TV link. The guy keeps saying it is going to be the Long Beach race so will have to check it out and see if it is live or just a replay. He showed the last few hours of Sebring live and then uploaded the entire race, so maybe there is hope!

I don't believe that it will be shown on ABC on Sunday, only ESPN2.

You are right. I did this a week ago and for some reason it did show up on my TV guide but it doesn't now. So, according to the ALMS it will be shown on ESPN2. ALMS also wanted us all to know that ESPN2 is ".....available in 100 million homes!"

It sure is but again it is a rebroadcast and it will be a shorting version of the actual race. The race is two hours, the rebroadcast is two hours. You know there will be a pre-race show 5-15 minutes, a post race show 5-15 minutes and a lot of commercials so ESPN2 can make some money. So the rebroadcast may actually show about 90 minutes of the race.
ALMS is going to do whatever they can to make it look like this deal is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but letís face it, it is not what it was cracked up to be. I admit it is probably the way of the future and in 2-3 years it might be great with the webcast, but not just yet. Too many providers do not provide the customers with ESPN3 or if they do they do not have the bandwidth to provide a high quality feed. Those are the two major issues they need to address and I just don't see that happening. I happen to be lucky enough that not only do I receive ESPN3, but I also receive it without any issues, great picture quality, sound and continuous feed without any buffering, but again I am one of the lucky ones and for every person that does receive in a good quality there are many that don't and those are the fans that ALMS will most likely lose to Gran Am.
I would like to see ALMS step up and say they made a mistake they are a few years ahead of their time on this and they are working to resolve all the issue so their true fans base can enjoy the 2011 season. That ainít going to happen.
Sorry if I offended anyone, but that is my opinion on this issue.

Yes and now no RLM. So who is in Long Beach right now getting ready to do the radio show?

...there is no radiolemans.com coverage from Long Beach. At present the Alms decline to use Radio Show Limited in their new broadcast plan.

Anyone know why SPEED and ALMS parted ways? Money? Lack of viewers, etc. If it's AMLS' choice, it was a step backwards.

I alos believe that the RLM crew do a great job and I will miss them at Long Beach.

I don't think we will ever know, but it was I am sure money. I have read about NASCAR/Grand Am pressuring Speed as we all know Speed is committed to NASCAR.
Here is the interview Scott Atherton did with Auto Week Racing a few days ago. The first question asked is about this new digital package. He does not answer the question as to why they did not sign a new deal with Speed. If you read between the lines you will probably come to the realization that it was money and coverage. Was it completely Speed or did NASCAR have anything to do with it. Remember they do control Grand Am. I am not saying that NASCAR pressured Speed, and you will never gat anyone on that side of the fence to state it, plus you will never hear ALMS state that or that the price was just too high with the limited budget they have compared to other racing venues. Anyway here is the link:

From RLM: (so no online radio only what you hear from ESPN3 and alms.com)

Please remember Jeremy and John are calling the online video of the race for ESPN3.com

Sorry I did not read your original post correctly. I like Jeremy and John. They are much better announcing the webcast then the normal ABC, ESPN or Speed announcers.

Hindy is fantastic. I had planned on at least listening to the race because Hindy has the talent to make you feel like you are really there. But now some of us won't even get that, because of not getting ESPN3. That leaves only live timing available.

Now this is funny, coming from Midweek Motorsports, who reported that the Long Beach Indy radio announcers just called ALMS series the Grand Am series!
