Help with code 36
Got a code 36 for a bad or failing mass air flow sensor, problem is there are no symptoms other than when I initially start the car when its cold, the idle drops way down and stumbles for a second or two then returns to normal. Car runs fine after that, no problems with acceleration and starts are normal. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

It's the relays by the battery. Mine used to do that too.

The MAF burnoff relay ; not the MAF sensor
MAF faults are DTC 33 and 34

IIRC the MAF relays and fan relays are the same so you could pull the fan relays and swap them then start the car and see if the same symptoms are there. If gone then replace. The other way is to use a VOM and probe for output. They are fairly cheap. I usually replace all when one goes bad, Quick and easy to replace when compared to the downtime and inconvience to fix one at a time. If one goes bad then the others are usually not far behind. 20 + years on a relay isnt too bad imo.
