Watch the video a little lower on the page, it shows a rendering of the rear of the car as well.

This renduring just doesn't rock my boat. It's too "pretty" or somthing? Just not "Corvette". Looks like a family sports car to me.
does it have 4 seats?
|
|
Why do they call it "common sense" when, in fact, it has become so uncommon?
That's my opinion, it outta be your's. |

When I see the rear end, I think of the Acura TL. Not that they look alike, they just both seem to be overdone. I may like it better in person, but not thrilled with the renderings so far.

This is not new, was posted here back in September when Jalopnik first released it. Was discussed on this site back then. If it your first time seeing it, enjoy.

This isn't new, it's old. And, the proportions are all wrong.

I still think it's way to scalloped and the side vent's don't flow well enough. It DOESN"t look like the CAD images to me. On this one the rear end dropps after the rear fenders. The CAD doesn't. Also the side vents don't look sunk in enough.

Soooo... how come the Jalopnik leak didn't get the roof right ? In all the spy photos we can clearly see the raised bubble on the roof and yet in those Jalopnik drawings... its just a flat roof ?? Something fishy to me...
I have a C6 Corvette book and it shows several full scale models of vaiants of what the C6 was to become, they looked quite different from the final product... what's to stop GM from showing/leaking one of the early prototypes to gauge the reaction of the Corvette faithful ? With many vehicle they conduct user group surveys to get a better idea of how the general public will accept a new design.. i think that they are using this forum to do that... guess they got more than they bargained for!
I just have a hard time believing that it can be that bad! that Omega rear facia shows 3 lights per side, 2 round and 1 square, why does everyone ignore the one square one ? and why are the others round. round light goes into round hole, square light goes into square hole ?

An intentional leak is one of the theories I think is a possibility, but who besides them knows for sure? As for the Omega tail, those are not the lights or their openings you are seeing, it is just a bezel that an assembly will go in. The holes are for things like the wiring or the attachment hardware or whatever to pass through.

Asked and answered earlier. The Jalopnik rendering is of the Z?? which is likely to have a fixed roof, not a targa. The new Z?? roof could be one piece painted CF from windshield to front edge of hatch covering the unnecessary basket handle. ..... or what Patrick says two posts down
Regarding the fishy smell .. try a different deoderant.

I like it.The rear of the car is the weakest area of this rendering.

My info is from people directly involved. And, I can tell you, with absolutely certainty, that any details missed on the Jalop illustrations was simply because the illustrator had very limited time to make the illustrations based on what he was looking at. Since a human did the illustration and not a robot, it'll have a few things that are slightly off.

I know for sure.
And, it was not an intentional leak by GM. Trust me...
Last October, when "things" about the C7 started circulating around (but not publicly), there were hundreds of people who had access to C7 "stuff" from the business end because they were working on the project. From GM personnel, to suppliers, partners and consultants, and then everyone around those people could be exposed to C7 "things" inadvertently or intentionally.
It's not a military project. It's a car. They try their best to keep it hushed, but people get excited and share.

Motor Trend rendering
How close is the Motor Trend rendering? I reckon we'll know in 62 days anyway.
