Where is that smoke coming from......????

.....I think most of us have seen this before but I never
asked about the smoke when the vette really gets hot
and heavy on the throttle....what is that smoke...??
is he actually breaking the tires free at that speed....

You can hear in the video the RPMs rising and see the car wiggling. Even at those high of speeds. I'm sure you are seeing clutch as well. To hold that kind of power you will have a really aggressive clutch that will create dust when abused.

darn that video brings back some great memories, my old race 1968 corvette with a full roll cage and dana 60 rear could easily smoke street tires well past 60 mph from a rolling start , with near zero effort, and it only had a bit over 700 hp, with a 13.7:1 cpr 496 crower injected big block, so the better suspension and better tires on the newer cars must be even more of a big grin
