Chime after hard acceleration

Been awhile since I've posted on here....

I was driving on I-5 today and punched it hard from 70 to about 95. A few seconds after I let off the gas, the information center made a chime noise (same noise as when tires are low) but nothing popped up on the info center....

The check engine light is on and has been on for 2 years now because I have longtube headers and high-flow cats. I have also had a diablosport predator tune on it for the past 2 years (4,000 miles or so).

Recently I changed the coolant, but the engine temp was normal so I'm confident thats not the issue.

I'm just not sure why it chimed and if I should be concerned. I think I may need to get rid of the crappy diablosport tune?

Any input would be appreciated.

you need to pull your codes and see if anything new popped up.

The first thing to do is pull the codes and see if any are current ones.. Write them all down then try and replicate what you did on !-5 to see if it chimes again. When it does, check the codes again. then we can look into what has happened

I've never heard any of my C5's chime before and they've thrown plenty-o-codes. Interesting.

Chime - engine threw a code under heavy load.

Happened to me once on the C6. The issue in my case was a constricted exhaust.

In that case, I assume you thought about disabling the high speed warning chime?

Gentlemen, thanks for the responses. Here is what I have ... Most of the codes have to do with electrical. ( I love GM, but in my experience, GM vehicles tend to have more electrical problems than anything else).

10-PCM- P0420 H C (catalyst system low efficiency)
P0430 H C
A6-SCM- B22177 H C (Power seat switch circuit)

I have 16 more codes, but they are all H, and like I said before, I'm pretty sure they're all electrical and non-essential stuff like seat controls and radio. So for the sake of brevity I'll leave those off of this post unless someone thinks they're necessary to see.

As far as those PCM codes, a good tuner can get rid of those (and the check engine light) for me right? (I realize this has probably been asked 1,000 times before)

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure about the chime. I have never heard of that before. A good tuner can definitely get rid of your pcm codes that go against your cars performance. He will get your check engine light off, and get the most out of your mods. You might not be getting the most power, because your check engine light is on. Your 10-PCM- P0420 H C (catalyst system low efficiency) code is most likely linked to your check engine light. It might be retarding your timing to deliver less fuel/power. Also a good tuner should do a street tune as well as a dyno tune. I would definitely get it tuned. Good luck.
