All BMWs are looking too much alike and getting fatter and fatter each year. This thing is supposed to be the new 3 series coupe replacement.

I guess I was thinking the same thing. My reaction was, "What did they change?" It looks like every other BMW.

Is it me? Or does the front end of that BMW look as if someone stuck their head out of a car moving well in excess of the speed limit. You're right, the yuppies will love this.

I know my last remark was snarky, but I really don't understand calling a 4 door car a grand coupe
I guess by the logic my Vette is a Les Petit Sedan

i have no idea what snarky means, but dont worry, your remark was okay, actually i really liked it. it was spot on.
this 4-door coupe thing is just a marketing stunt. something with more than two doors can't be a coupe, but this is IMHO.
furthermore if we look at what are coupes originally, we see that not even a door covers it.
1. 2 doors
2. no B-pillar
3 the windows have no frames. (obviously since it has no b pillar)
4 and if someone really wants to push the envelope then take a look at the american b-pillarless, frameless sedans, now THOSE were the 4-door coupes.

look at audis. can hardly tell the difference between them.
now bmw joined the same design...with no character.

Because a 4 series is two doors and a 3 series is four doors. There won't be a 3 series coupe anymore. It's now the 4 series.
BTW BMW is doing that across the line. Even numbers will be coupes odd numbers will be sedans.
